Would you like to join us in our mission to prevent and repair the harm caused by conflict in our community?
Brighton and Hove Independent Mediation Service (BHIMS) has a fantastic opportunity for a Mediation Caseworker, who will be working at the heart of our high-quality service.
Applications must be submitted by noon on 12 July. Interviews are planned for 24-25 July.
Our caseworkers are involved throughout the mediation process. They ensure the progression of cases, liaising with clients, with the organisations who refer to us (such as the local council and the Police) and with our volunteer mediators. Where needed, caseworkers will also carry out mediations themselves.
We are looking for someone with excellent people skills and a proven ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds and to understand the issues they face in their communities. If you have experience of managing a caseload, can listen and remain impartial, then we would like to hear from you.
Hours: 28 hours per week (Monday to Thursday).
Salary: £24,500 per annum FTE - (£18,538 Actual)
Post managed by: Senior Caseworker
Working arrangements: Our core office hours are 10:00 to 16.00, Monday to Thursday. On occasion we may require some flexibility in order to meet BHIMS’s needs. This may very occasionally include evening & weekend work.
Location: Based at the BHIMS office in central Brighton, with flexible working from home. Our area of work covers residents of Brighton, Hove, Lewes and surrounding areas.
Access and inclusion: the BHIMS office has disabled access and we would make reasonable adjustments to our facilities to meet any requirements of the successful candidate.
